Influencer Campaign ROI Calculator

Calculate ROAS, ROI, CPA, CPM and every other campaign metric from your real numbers, and find out how many sales you needed to break even. Save up to five campaigns and compare them side by side.

How to use the ROI calculator

  1. Enter the full cost. Split it into creator fees, product and gifting, agency fees and production, or enter one total. Product and agency costs belong in the calculation: leaving them out makes every campaign look better than it was.
  2. Add the results you have. Impressions, engagements, link clicks, conversions and revenue. If you don’t know revenue, enter the average order value and the calculator multiplies it by conversions.
  3. Add your gross margin to see profit-based ROI and the real break-even point.
  4. Save the campaign to compare it with others in a table, or download everything as CSV.

The calculator shows every metric it can compute from what you entered. With only cost and clicks you still get cost per click; add conversions and revenue to unlock CPA, ROAS and ROI.

Break-even: did the campaign pay off?

ROAS alone can mislead, because revenue is not profit. If your gross margin is 40%, each $1 of revenue leaves $0.40 to cover the campaign, so you need a ROAS of at least 1 ÷ 0.40 = 2.50 to break even.

Example: a campaign costs $1,000 ($800 creator fee and $200 product), brings 1,500 clicks and 45 sales at an average order of $60. Revenue is $2,700 and ROAS 2.70. With a 40% margin the break-even ROAS is 2.50 and break-even is 42 sales, so the campaign is profitable, but only just: profit ROI is 8%.

If a campaign loses money, the calculator shows how much you could have paid at most to break even with the same sales. That number is useful for the next negotiation with the same creator.

How to track influencer sales

  • Unique links with UTM tags for each creator, so sales show up in your analytics.
  • Personal promo codes for sales that start on mobile or offline.
  • Post-purchase survey (“Where did you hear about us?”) to catch people who saw the content but bought later.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between ROAS and ROI?

ROAS shows revenue per dollar spent: a ROAS of 3 means $3 of revenue for every $1. ROI shows the return on top of the spend in percent: the same campaign has an ROI of 200%. Neither accounts for product costs; profit ROI does.

What is a good ROAS for influencer marketing?

It depends on your margin. Break-even ROAS is 1 divided by your gross margin: 2.0 at 50% margin, 4.0 at 25%. Anything above your break-even ROAS makes money.

Should I include product costs and gifting?

Yes. Gifted products, shipping, agency fees and content production are real costs of the campaign. Leave them out and you will overestimate the return.

What if I only have impressions and engagement?

Then compare campaigns by CPM and CPE, and use the EMV calculator to estimate the advertising value of the exposure. For ROAS and ROI you need sales data.

Can I compare several influencers?

Yes. Save each creator’s results as a separate campaign and the table shows cost, CPM, CPA, ROAS and ROI side by side, sortable and exportable to CSV.
